NEWPORT CITY- The recent job fair held at North Country Career Center allowed Northeast Kingdom Learning Services (NEKLS) a chance to connect with the public. NEKLS is well-known for providing tutorial instruction for individuals who take the GED test, as well as students who want to pursue a high school diploma.
Chris Hardy said the organization offers an array of transition services, including skill building, resume and cover letter writing, as well as upgrading math and English language skills. Earlier this year the Vermont State Legislature removed the age cap off of the high school completion program so adults can get their high school diplomas.
Proficiency-based plans are a key to providing adults with the necessary array of skills needed to find and maintain employment opportunities.
“Career interests are the key,” explains Hardy.
