DERBY LINE – A large historic home on Main Street in Derby Line is slowly being converted into a restaurant and inn. The home was built in 1901 by the Butterfields and has been owned by a number of different people since. Six years ago, Paula and Fritz Halbedl bought the property. They will continue to live there on the third floor and rent the rest of the bedrooms out. The main floor will hold the restaurant and bed and breakfast gathering area. The couple, along will help from many family members have been working on remodeling the place, according to their blog on Word Press. They believe that “it will be a fabulous new addition to the Vermont community,” and they look forward to share their hopes, dreams, and experiences... as they acclimate to the Vermont way of life.”
