BARTON- Lake Region Union High School school board member Mike Sanville reported good financial news Thursday night when he told the board there will be no increase in their portion of the North Country Career Center budget.
The proposed budget for the next fiscal year is approximately $3,376,000. Career Center Director Eileen Illuzzi is considering adding a half-time faculty position in the field of aviation. Interested students will be connected with the Coventry Airport upgrades which include manufacturing and repairing airplanes.
“The center is getting some retirements, which lowers costs,” Sanville explained. “I’m very impressed with Eileen and Gwen (Assistant Director Gwen Bailey-Rowe); they’ve taken a very positive tack.”
