Burlington Holds off North Country, Wins 67-49

NEWPORT–A strong inside presence and the ability to force turn-overs helped the Burlington Seahorses take down the North Country Falcons on Thursday night.Despite the loss, NCU coach Brian Bonvechio saw some really positive things from his players."I am really happy with the intensity were are playing with on defense. We are really hustling, and I saw some great minutes from Jesse Breault and Chris LePage."I am going to put Chris on Tom Carton on Monday because he just battles and battles and battles. So our defensive intensity and our active hands was great, we just struggled offensively."The loss leaves the Falcons at 2-13 while BHS moves up to 7-10.In the JV contest, the North Country junior Falcons handed Burlington a 86-67 loss to improve to 7-8 on the season. The boys will travel to Essex on Monday to take on the Hornets, with the JV's getting underway at 5:00 with the Varsity action started right after. For the full story, check out Monday's Express on 2-11-13.
