Chargers Pick up First Win of the Season

CANAAN -- The Craftsbury Academy boys picked up their first win of the young season with a 4-1 victory over Canaan High School Tuesday afternoon, and ran their overall record to 1-2. Jason Martin and Kyle Adams each picked up 2 goals for the Chargers en route to the victory. Andrew Marckres played outstanding in net, giving up the loan Canaan goal on a penalty kick with 8 minutes remaining in the contest. Coach Ruetz was very pleased with the way his team played and was thrill to pick up win number 1 on the season. “We possessed the ball very well; last game I switched Jason Martin from Sweeper to Striker and it really paid off today with his 2 goals and Andrew [Marckres] had some amazing saves in net for us today.” The Chargers will take the pitch again Friday, September 23rd, when the travel to Cabot. Game time is set for 4:30.
