Charleston Solar Awarded CPG

A solar array will be constructed at the Charlston gravel pit out of sight from the surrounding neighbors.

With a Certificate of Public Good in hand, Charleston's select board is forming a solar oversight committee for the construction of a 98kw solar array. Construction will start in the spring at the town gravel pit and should be operational by summer. The energy produced will serve the elementary school, town office, street lights, town garage and fire department. Read more in the Newport Daily Express.
