Falcons Top Spaulding 5-4

BARRE– Connor Burke's return to the Hill was a successful one as he paced the Falcons to the 5-4 win over Spaulding. "Burke was a little rusty, but he was good enough to win," said Coach Bonvechio. Burke went five and a third innings, yielding three runs on eighty pitches. Cris Buckles came in and got the save for the Falcons. North Country got off to an early 2-0 lead as Nate Stewart drove in Taylor Miller and later scored on a wild pitch in the first. They added another two in the second on a Tom Blake sac fly and another wild pitch. "We had very productive at bats," said Bonvechio, "We had key sac flies, Stew was very good, the only thing that did not go well was our base running." What did go very well for North Country was the cutting back on errors. Errors have plagued the team all season long, and playing a very clean game, with only a lone miscue in the 7th, made a world of difference in the one run win. The Bobwhites come in to town today to begin a stretch of three games in three days for the Falcons.
