WESTMORE- It'll be all systems go once a 30-day appeal period ends on Sept. 15 finalizing a permit issued by the town's development review board. The Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation applied for a permit to upgrade parking facilities, toilets, access to Lake Willoughby and a hiking trail network.

The Willoughby State Park lies on the southern end of the lake. The 7682-acre forest has 12 miles of hiking trails with Mount Hor (2648 feet) to the west and Mount Pisgah (2751 feet) to the east of the lake.
